A person should carry with him rucksack, sleeping bag, enough warm clothes for winter i.e woolens, spare socks, sleepers & enough personal clothing’s, good walking shoes & some protection from rain are a must. A camera and binocular can be useful. ID document i.e passport, ID card, pan card or voter’s card should be available.

But July & August is monsoon period in the lower Himalayas
Higher Himalayas perhaps rains are not a problem though it can snow above 14,000 ft
